Most vegans understand how frustrating eating on-the-go can be. Meal prepping is helpful most of the time. However, what happens when you find yourself hungry, on the road, and out of food? Thankfully, one of the biggest fast-food chains in the United States is about to provide some welcome relief.
MorningStar Farms recently announced that all of their vegetarian products will be 100 percent vegan in the next 3 years. So, what does this mean for you?
Burger King currently offers a vegetarian MorningStar burger. Since they are happily hopping on the vegan train, Burger King will be too!
That's right, Burger King will soon have a vegan burger on their menu.
Don't worry about the bun either. Currently, Burger King's sesame seed buns are also vegan.
Being vegan can be challenging in this carnivore world, but it's becoming easier every day as veganism expands. You might already know that Carl's Jr. sells vegan beyond burgers, but did you know that McDonald's is offering vegan burgers abroad? Hopefully, they'll be the next fast-food chain to sell vegan burgers in all of their restaurants.
Helpful Tip:
For some reason, certain vegan burgers are still served with cheese as a topping. Just make sure to order it without cheese, and you'll be good to go.
Other Vegan Options at Burger King
Burger King hasn't said when they will be offering this new vegan burger. Until then, here are some of their other yummy vegan options to hold you over.
- Dutch Apple Pie
- French Fries
- French Toast Sticks
- Hash Rounds
While these may not be the healthiest food choices, no one is perfect. We all need to spoil ourselves every once in a while.
Final Thoughts
Veganism is rapidly spreading and becoming more widely accepted.
In 2014, only 1 percent of Americans called themselves vegan. That number skyrocketed to an astounding 6 percent by 2017. That is a 600 percent increase! Who knows how many are vegan by now? What we do know is that around 30 percent of Americans are planning on switching to more vegan products during 2019.
Change is happening. As many Americans make the switch, fast-food chains are following suit. McDonald's, Carl's Jr., and Burger King are all beginning to join the movement. While this may be the result of popular demand, it gives many vegans hope that their cruelty-free way of life will soon hit the mainstream for good.
